The Bhoramdeo Wildlife Sanctuary, which was named after the famous Bhoramdeo Temple in Kabirdham district, was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 2001. Spread over an area of about 164 sq km, the Bhoramdeo Wildlife Sanctuary consists of mixed flora in which sal, saja, tesu, cara, haldu species are predominant.The Sakri river passes through the Bhoramdeo Wildlife Sanctuary, which is used as a source of drinking water for wild animals. Its open forest is like a residential complex for many wild animals like leopard, jackal, fox, bear, chital, bison, nilgai etc. Tigers can also be seen in Bhoramdeo Wildlife Sanctuary due to its proximity to Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh. The process of identifying the Bhoramdeo Wildlife Sanctuary as a tiger reserve is being expedited. Tourists can also enjoy gypsy jungle safari here.
