Mr. Baghel appeals people to strictly follow COVID guidelines
COVID Care Hospital built with public support at Krishi Upaj Mandi inaugurated

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the COVID Care Hospital of 500-bed capacity at Krishi Upaj Mandi (agriculture produce market) in District Headquarters Balodabazar today. This virtual inauguration programme was held right before the online review meeting of Raipur and Durg Division. Warehouse of the Krishi Upaj Mandi has been transformed into a COVID Care Hospital with 120 oxygen equipped beds.
Chief Minister congratulated the people of the district for building this hospital in the record time of 20 days. He said that this new facility would bring relief to the COVID-infected patients. On the occasion, Mr. Baghel appealed people to strictly follow the guidelines. Public representatives also joined the inaugural programme online.
Collector Sunil Kumar Jain informed that it is the first hospital in the state, which has been built by transforming a ‘mandi’ (paddy market). This fully air-conditioned ultramodern hospital has 500-bed capacity and it is well-equipped with 120 oxygen-beds including 33 HDU beds, 36 ICU, 51 beds with oxygen and 380 general beds. If required, this facility can be expanded in future. The hospital already has all the facilities for comfort, care and treatment of the COVID patients. This hospital would be operated by Health Department. This work of transforming Mandi warehouse into Hospital has been done with the support, contribution and cooperation of public representatives, industries, DMF, public support and district administration. A team of 13 doctors has been appointed here.
Health Minister Mr. TS Singhdeo, MP Mr. Sunil Soni, Member of Rajya Sabha Mrs. Chhaya Verma, MLA Mr. Shivratan Sharma, various public representatives, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahu, Secretary Mr. Siddhartha Komal Pardeshi were also present on the occasion.
