Chief Minister Mr. Baghel was addressing the virtual meeting of mitanins and health workers from Bastar and Sarguja Division, from his residence office in the capital city today. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that COVID-19 infection has spread across the urban as well as rural areas of the state. Under these circumstances, mitanins and rural healthworkers are working tirelessly to prevent COVID infection in rural areas. Mr. Baghel said that even today, people are not fully aware of the COVID protocol, and the importance of handwash, mask, sanitizer, vaccine, isolation etc. Hence, it is the responsibility of mitanins to create public awareness on the subject, and to explain people, especially women, about the seriousness of COVID infection, motivating them to be cautious. Also, people with the COVID symptoms should be immediately provided medicines and encouraged to go for COVID test.
As people in rural areas are not aware of the COVID symptoms, they are likely to delay the test and the medication, which results in severe and difficult to cure infection. Keeping this in view, mitanins and health workers should focus of creating awareness about COVID symptoms among villagers. He directed the mitanins and health workers to use mask and sanitizer compulsorily during the field visit, as their safety is extremely important.
